How we verify specs
A number is printed as a fact only when a manufacturer page or that manufacturer’s manual states it. The row links the URL and names the place on the page. The date on this site, 2 November 2026, is that read date. It is not a rolling “updated” stamp.
What counts as a source
- The current product page on the manufacturer’s site, including a specifications list in the page.
- The spec-sheet PDF linked from that page, including Miller and Hobart sheets on the ITW content host.
- The owner’s manual PDF hosted by the manufacturer. Harbor Freight manuals are cited from manuals.harborfreight.com. The ESAB Rebel EMP 215ic figures are from ESAB manual 0463 789 001.
Retailer listings, forum posts, and other spec roundups are not sources. A marketing sentence on the manufacturer’s own brochure is a source, and when it disagrees with that brochure’s specifications table both sentences are printed. The Rebel EMP 235ic brochure says 53 lb in the introduction and 63 lb in the specifications table. The job tool’s weight sort uses 63 lb. The cell shows both.
What we do when a field is missing
The cell says “Not published by manufacturer.” A wire size is not copied from a contact-tip catalog unless the sheet says those rolls or wires are what the machine is set up for. Duty cycle is not calculated from a 10-minute story the manual uses as an example. Electrode classifications such as E7018 are not turned into a metal name.
Outlet and thickness rules
The which-welder tool treats a published 208–240 V, 230 V, or 240 V input as the 240 V outlet, and a published 110 V, 115 V, or 120 V input as the 120 V outlet. 460 V and 575 V match neither. The result says when that mapping was used.
Input current at rated output is not a breaker recommendation. If that current is above the breaker you type, the circuit check fails. If it fits and the sheet never names a breaker, the check is a warning. A pass needs a breaker size the maker printed. Hobart’s Handler 210i table has a 15 A row and a 20 A row. ESAB’s 215ic manual also prints a 30 A time-delay maximum and a 50 A normal-fuse maximum. A breaker above both maximums fails.
When a thickness is labeled single pass and the same page says thicker material is possible without a second number, going past the single-pass figure is a warning. When the page prints a maximum and does not call it single-pass only, going past it fails. Gauge is not converted to inches.
Aluminum on TIG passes only when the page names aluminum. DC TIG that does not name aluminum fails that metal. A metal the page never names, and that is not that aluminum case, is left unscored.
When two official files disagree
Harbor Freight hosts two manuals for Unlimited 200, item 57862. They do not print the same input current. This site cites 57862-193175459367.pdf and says so on the model page. The other file is not averaged in.
